Triticea(pronounced: tr/ɪ/-TI-shea) was an intermediate god of the Gaian Pantheon. The Wheatmother served as one of the World Tree's most stalwart guardians, vigilantly shielding her mother against those that might scheme against her. Hers was a firm and steady hand that tolerated little argument against her beliefs, yet she could be a gentle and nurturing force towards those that earned her favour. Triticea viewed herself as a goddess of civilisation rather than a goddess of plants, and thus held little concern towards wild greenery.
The Great Locust was known to be split between two aspects. Triticea Pueri, known as The Child by her acolytes, represented the action required to sow one's fields and the potential of the crops to grow into an abundant harvest. Conversely, The Mother, also called Triticea Genetrix, embodied the careful patience required by farmers to see their fields bear fruit and the resilience of crops to withstand harsh conditions. The Wheatmother maintained a balance between her two aspects and considered a perfect middle ground between the two to be Triticea in her purest form.
